Benefit for Crystal and Malachi!

Friday night we had a benefit for Crystal and Malachi. When we were having so much rain a bridge gave way and her SUV went into the water. By the time help arrived and they were taken to the hospital it was too late. So sad the care that is given to our country roads! Sometimes our elected officials forget about the country roads. Two precious lives were lost that day because of a neglected bridge. Crystal was a sweet and loving person who had a contagious smile. Malachi was a beautiful baby boy. The benefit was a wonderful success! It was a time for people to reach out with help , and many hearts were touched! Crystal's family is a loving christian family. Please keep them in your prayers as they deal with this heart breaking tragedy.

Friendship

Friendship has been around since the beginning of time. It's wonderful to have amazing friends. I wanted to share some scripture with all of you about friendship. Hoping you all have a marvelous day!

FRIENDS AND FRIENDSHIP
Exodus 33:11 So the Lord spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend.
Proverbs 17:17 A friend loves at all times . . .
Proverbs 18:24 A man who has friends must himself be friendly,
Proverbs 22:24 Make no friendship with an angry man, And with a furious man do not go,
Proverbs 27:6 Faithful are the wounds of a friend, But the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.
Proverbs 27:9 Ointment and perfume delight the heart, And the sweetness of a man’s friend gives delight by hearty counsel.
Proverbs 27:10 Do not forsake your own friend or your father’s friend, nor go to your brother’s house in the day of your calamity; Better is a neighbor nearby than a brother far away.
Isaiah 41:8 But you, Israel, are My servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, The descendants of Abraham My friend.
Matthew 11:19 "The Son of Man … a friend of tax collectors and sinners!' But wisdom is justified by her children."
Mark 5:19 However, Jesus did not permit him, but said to him, "Go home to your friends, and tell them what great things the Lord has done for you, and how He has had compassion on you.
Luke 15:6 And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!’
John 11:11 These things He said, and after that He said to them, "Our friend Lazarus sleeps, but I go that I may wake him up."
John 15:13 Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.
John 15:14 You are My friends if you do whatever I command you.
John 15:15 No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you.
James 2:23 And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, "Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness." And he was called the friend of God.

Happy Valentine's Day!!!!!!!!!

Every February, across the country, candy, flowers, and gifts are exchanged between loved ones, all in the name of St. Valentine. But who is this mysterious saint and why do we celebrate this holiday? The history of Valentine's Day — and its patron saint — is shrouded in mystery. But we do know that February has long been a month of romance. St. Valentine's Day, as we know it today, contains vestiges of both Christian and ancient Roman tradition. So, who was Saint Valentine and how did he become associated with this ancient rite? Today, the Catholic Church recognizes at least three different saints named Valentine or Valentinus, all of whom were martyred.

According to one legend, Valentine actually sent the first 'valentine' greeting himself. While in prison, it is believed that Valentine fell in love with a young girl — who may have been his jailor's daughter — who visited him during his confinement. Before his death, it is alleged that he wrote her a letter, which he signed 'From your Valentine,' an expression that is still in use today. Although the truth behind the Valentine legends is murky, the stories certainly emphasize his appeal as a sympathetic, heroic, and, most importantly, romantic figure. It's no surprise that by the Middle Ages, Valentine was one of the most popular saints in England and France.

Hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's! Was a good weekend! Got some great presents and spent time with all those I love! Most of the afternoon we spent working on the boy's 4-wheeler. We got it fixed thank goodness! Tonight we went out for a family Valentine's Dinner. Wanted to wish you all a VERY HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!

Looking Back!

It's amazing how time flies! Recently I have been re-connected to some people I had not seen since seventh grade. It's been so unreal to see where they have all moved and what they do for a living. The one thing that has been true to all the reuniting is personalities from the past shine through . The sweetest and most kind have remained that way. Do you ever wonder how you affected peoples lives, or even if you ever have affected someone's life? I received a letter from one of the people that shared something with me... I would have never known. It made me feel good because when I was in this persons life I didn't feel very good about my situation. Just good to know they found something they needed in me at that time. Sometimes we never know how we are going to affect someones life. As I have looked back on all these people I have re-connected with ......I sigh and remember what they meant to me. We should all think about the people who touched our lives over the years and tell them what they mean to us. You might find out somethings about yourself that you didn't realize or know. It's interesting! Be blessed and have a great day!

REMEMBERING

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7HPUryHzCcQ
I came across this video of the late J.D. Sumner. He is one of my favorite old time singers. As most of you know I just love southern gospel music. It's where my heart is in music. I watched some of J.D.'s stuff tonight. Thinking about things he said, and what his music means. It's deeper than the ocean! I listen to him and I feel so many things. I think about when my great grandmother and my grandmother took me to singings at every church in town when I was growing up. I think about ridding down the street with my grandparents on Sunday afternoon's with their boston terrier. How I would sit in the middle and sing to the top of my lungs. My favorite song back then was," Have a little talk with Jesus." It also made me think tonight how things are so different now. Most of the people I loved and adored so long ago are in heaven now. I know they would never dream how the world is today for so many reasons. There is one thing I want to pass on to my own kids... Without God we are nothing ! HE'S ALL WE HAVE IN THE END! I remember how it felt to get baptized. I remember thinking what it all meant. I was so glad that I had a chance to go to heaven. Ya know, that all meant a lot to me then, but I can tell you it means even more to me now. God is there waiting to greet us, he has so many people I can't wait to see again. I want to thank him for giving his son , and then I want to hold my son! I'm sure glad he wipes all tears away because otherwise I might just flood heaven. So strange how we have to grow up to understand how important all those little things will mean to us later on in life.
We have so many new groups that sing now. I love the praise and worship music . There's just something about the old stuff that puts you in a place you need to be sometimes! Makes you feel and remember where it all started , and what its all about! I don't know where I'm really going with all of this other than just hoping that everyone takes a minute to remember what is important in life and never take people you love for granted. Heaven might be tonight, or it might be in 100 years . I just want to take all the people I love with me!
